Acetylated Pinus Radiata

Accoya starts its life as Radiata Pine and goes through an acetylation treatment to cancel out free hydroxil groups in the timber which cause it to absorb and release water. This makes the timber extremely stable, excellent to finish and the most durable of timbers to use against the elements. As it comes from a fast growing tree, it is classified as one of the most sustainable timbers.

It subsequently becomes a good timber to use against the elements but still requires adequate sealing techniques to be used.
